DARWIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PASSENGER TERMINAL EXPANSION
DRAFT VERSION MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Darwin International Airport has proposed an expansion of the airport’s terminal, the first major capital investment since the terminal was built 16 years ago. The new building, to the east of the current terminal, will increase floor space by about 65 per cent, improve passenger facilities and operational efficiency, and cater for the airport’s projected growth to 2015.
Under the Federal Airports Act 1996, the airport must develop a Major Development Plan (MDP) for the project. The MDP was released to the public for 60 business days and comments closed on the 17th of October 2008. All submissions received have been reviewed and the proposal has now been submitted to the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government for consideration.
